Back in Parnell we used to have our offices and showroom all together in one place, it was always kind of awkward. People used to poke their heads in and see us on our computers and leave, thinking it was just dudes in an office. Had they entered they would have found our showroom was in there too - queue more awkwardness when customers didn’t know who to talk to. But that’s all changed. We’ve got our offices out the back and the showroom’s not even a showroom – it’s a fully-fledged retail store.
Shop Hours
Monday-Friday: 9:00am to 5:00pm IF YOU DON'T LIKE MAPS, HERE’S HOW TO FIND US: The retail shop is at 302B Great North. But if you’re directionally retarded like me, that won’t mean anything to you. So here are a few little familiar sights that make sense in my brain that might also help your brain. Philippe’s Chocolate and French Pastries: Phillippe is this really poncy French dude that runs his pastry store in a typically eccentric fashion. When I first walked in there I thought it was a Jewellery store, but upon peering in to the cases I realised they were just sparkling little morsels of chocolates. Then Phillipe walked out of the kitchen in his chef gear, and he gave me the dirtiest look as if to say, “Who is zis dirty little chocolate peasant in my chocolate store wiz hiz dirty hoodiez on?” I also noticed that he sells pies for $6, so straight away I knew that we’d never be really close friends with such different views on pricing. In any case, if you know where that place is, just walk across the road and you’ll find us. We’re on the street with all the Car Yards: So Great North Rd is basically at the beginning of K Rd (or the end depending on which way you look at it), and it’s the street seemingly littered with car yards. You’ll notice that we’re not a car-yard. That may help you find us. So coming from town heading down Great North Rd, we’re past the 24 hr McDonalds that you’ve probably stopped in at a few times after a night on the juice – but don’t be tempted to stop there, I got a McChiken the other day and it was terribly overcooked, the mayonnaise was sparse, and the bun stale. So keep marching onwards and we’re on the left just before the lights. Repco store: When we moved in I noticed this yellow-heavy building across the road. I asked Hayden (our car loving warehouse dude) what it was and he told me that it was Repco, the place to go for all of your car needs. At Repco you can get your car ‘blacked out’ with tints and sacked out with the latest gear, car stereos, and windscreen wipers with little blue lights on them. I’m not actually sure if they do all those things but that’s all I know about cars, so there you go. We see all sorts of people come out of that store, many of them sporting spiky hair-do’s and sporting tribal tattoos. Anyway, if you’re that way inclined you’ll know where Repco is on Great North Rd, and we’re directly across the road from them. Bond Street: Bond Street is this well steep hill that we’re at the top of. It’s quite easy to get to, if you’re coming down Sandringham Rd, you’ll get to a set of lights just after Eden Park (the big stadium for sports like Rugby and cricket). Once you get to these lights you’ll want to go straight, if you go right or left you’ll find yourself on a street that I like to call ‘Kingsland Rd’ (Which I’ve since learnt is called New North Rd). Anyway you don’t want to end up on Kingsland Rd or you’ll be inundated with cafes and pubs like the Kingslander and Neighborhood – they’re not all that bad, but the other day I heard this dude performing covers of John Mayer and it was a terrible experience. So yeah, go straight, and at the lights at the top of Bond Street turn right and we’re just tucked around the corner there. |
