Sheesh, I forgot we even had this blog it’s been that long. But we’ve had a good reason; we were working on a new website, and now the website that we were working on is completed. I’d really like you to have a look at the site and tell us what you think. The site can be found by typing www.mrvintage.com.au in the browser.
As you might have guessed, it’s like mrvintage.co.nz but with Australian stuff instead of New Zealand stuff.
Why? The short answer is this, if New Zealanders love New Zealand, it’s more than likely that Australians will also love Australia; and if Mr Vintage works in NZ, Mr Vintage is more than likely to work in OZ. So here we are. The long answer is not much longer, but stems from Rob going on an OE and noticing Aussies all round the world wearing boardies with the Southern Cross and their flag on them. He figured they’d be in to t-shirts as well, and thought the opportunity was too good to pass up.
So a while back, we got a whole bunch of books about Australian pop-culture that we didn’t end up reading, and instead used the internet (mainly google) to find out as much as we could about Australia’s more nostalgic brands and moments. From there we began approaching brands, wearing v-necks and scoop necks, and getting the site ready.
We’re still going to be based here, and we’ll continue mrvintage.co.nz as well – but we’re really looking forward to expanding to Australia and building the brand over there. Thanks, and make sure you tell all your friends – especially the ones in Australia – and please like our Aussie facebook and twitter because we don’t have many friends yet.
