We’ve been at our Great North Rd warehouse for just over 3 years now, and it’s with tremendous excitement that we can now announce that we’re moving to pastures new! We’re not moving too far – just 6 minutes drive on a Wednesday morning to be exact (post rush hr) – but the new place is over FOUR TIMES BIGGER! Mitre10 Mega man would be well stoked, seeing as he’s all concerned with girth and whatnot.
Great North Rd has been great to us over the past few years though; it’s helped having Kokako Organic close by, closer still is the Newton Fish n Chippery, and grosser still is McDonalds (but frequented nevertheless). We’ve had a wedding (not in the warehouse, but Phil got married in the time we’ve occupied the building), 3 engagements, and most recently a baby conceived (again, not in the warehouse, well, not that I know of at least), and we’ve generally had a good bit of fun most days.
We’re stoked that we’re continuing to grow – even though it does get quite costly moving all the time – and we thank everyone that’s ever bought from us, liked a status on our facebook, tweeted us or come in to the store. You guys are tops.
Here are a few photos of the new place being renovated. It’s big.
The Boardroom to the left, where matters of only the highest importance will be addressed.
The office space/spa room. Where we do our lovin with the women, and a little bit of swimmin.
Whoever took this photo has a nifty iPhone and a steady hand.
The retail store will go in the top left area, the rest will be used for roller skating, mostly.
Warehouse space for Hayden and Cal.
This is a glory hole, presumably and thankfully a tradesman has labelled it.
I'd ordinarily assume that if there's a youtube video out there with over 32,000,000 views, I'd have heard about it - but because this is 'World of Warcraft' related (I'm not much of a gamer), I understand why I hadn't... until now.
'Leroy Jenkins' is over 6 years old, but I've heard about it now - and I'm glad that I have. A lot of his friends take it all very seriously, but Leroy is his own man, and he has chicken too.
If you switched off after you read World of Warcraft, I'd urge you not to. This is one of the best lines ever. just watch it.
If the baby elephant being rescued and re-united with its Mother isn't enough to restore your faith in humanity, COLDPLAY IS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND! go home and hug your significant other.
They're getting dumber, let's just hope none of these people procreate. They probably will though; too dumb to use condoms... Especially this lady, who can't quite seem to grasp why people use the freeway as the place to mark out deer crossings.
And these all-American folk who share their thoughts on how the second presidentail debate went... before it's actually happened.
There would be a few guys in NZ that could make videos like this about the Steak n Cheese.... but I can't help but be impressed by his in-depth review, such is his passion for the Double Cheeseburger. I'll put the song first, and if you want to hear him talk about cheeseburgers for 6:44 after that you can go right ahead. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as he enjoyed his cheeseburger, but probably not.
DJANGO! Hits theatres in the States on Christmas Day, so we'll probably get it in a few years... Good thing we all have the internet and a thirst for current movies in a very legal way.
0:02 seconds that so many parents will relate to; all those parents that - prior to having kids - held thoughts of one day creating a super athlete of some sort and living vicariously through their success. You’d put the hours in training them, and it’d all be worth it when they hit the big time. The reality is that some kids just don’t want to do it. Like this kid, he probably doesn't have the hunger - and his Dad knows it.
Not just because of their naivety, but also the care and attention they’ve so obviously paid to this plant - it's thriving in an outdoor setting, which as this guy I know points out, is very hard to do.
Over the past few months Korean K-Pop sensation PSY has stolen our hearts. Besides the video, dance, and insatiable swag - here are a few other reasons why...
A week ago today we opened our Sylvia Park Pop-Up store; super exciting because it’s our first real foray in to retail (our showroom aside), and super nerve-racking because it’s our first real foray in to retail (and the associated cost/risk).
Our Pop-Up is located in the hive of the fashion area, outside Glassons, Kookai, and Rodd & Gunn – you can’t miss it right in the centre isle.
Over the years we’ve had heaps and heaps of requests for more retail stores, and it’s always been in our vision that one day we’d have stores across the country. This is a test, and a first step – hopefully it works and helps out a few disoriented Christmas Sylvia Park shoppers.
We’re really stoked with how the pop-up’s turned out, especially given the limited space we had. Rob spent a whole bunch of time working on the layout and merchandising – the success of which is due in no small part to his previous experience in merchandising the Papatoetoe New World and his supreme special awareness.
Tell all your friends about it, and if you’re in Sylvia Park be sure to stop by and get your Christmas gifts sorted early!
The other day I posted on facebook that we were all feeling violently ill, and we would be closed that Friday. I lied. First we went to check out our new premises (the space is still occupied), then we head out to Woodhill and climbed some trees, before spending the rest of the day at the lovely Hallertau Brewery trying to fix our helmet hair (and having some beer and food). These are some photos of us not working while you were working, I trust you'll enjoy them as much as we enjoyed being there.

Just your classic pin-up chick with three tits; any warehouse worth its salt will have one.
It will be a nice change to have an office with direct sunlight. we've never really had that before.
These are the trees we climbed that I mentioned earlier.
Here are the girls, probably thinking about Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Our big inter-racial family. (L-R) Stucki, Manda, Soph, Joe, Hash, Jay, Andy, Hayds, Rod, Andrea, C-Dog and the Pakeha.
Best thing about Daylight Savings? The extra hour of street cricket you're afforded... and the thrill of dusting off the ground down cricket bat and getting out the electrical tape to add a touch of swing to the tennis ball. those were the days.

The Rip it Up range are only available till Sunday, so if you haven't got yours yet - make sure you do. There's an extra incentive too (as if you needed one)...

This is what Steve Jobs envisaged when he shaped Apple; die-hard customers on the leading edge of design and innovation that appreciate the simplicity and design on the brand... Like this lady who's waiting in line to get the iPhone5 because she doesn't trust the Internet scams when you buy online. She's excited, we're excited - it's all very promising.
